Software as a service or SaaS, is a method of software delivery where that instead of being installed locally on the end users computer the software is hosted and accessed via a web browser. This software delivery model significantly lowers not only the cost of deployment but also the cost of maintenance and support as well. From a consumer perspective the SaaS model is also very appealing. SaaS often reduces the up-front expenses that are associated with software purchases by using a less costly, on demand pricing model where customers pay on per seat or per user basis.
